Check-in experience:

There was no queue at Sydney Airport at the LAN Business Class desk for check-in, which was handled in a friendly and efficient manner. 


LAN Business Class passengers departing Sydney have access to the Qantas Business Class lounge.

On-time performance: 

Flight 800 departed Sydney on time at 09:30 and arrived in Santiago at 11:20 (the same day), fifteen minutes ahead of schedule.

Seat/Cabin conditions:

LAN's A340 Business Class cabin consists of seven rows in a 2-2-2 configuration.  The first five rows are in one section of the cabin and the last two rows are in a section just behind a dividing wall separating it from the main area.  The seats are all in straight rows across the aircraft, which had a feeling of spaciousness thanks to the absence of the shell seats that can make Business Class seem crowded on other airlines.

Food And Beverage:

Chile is well known around the world for its excellent wines, so it comes as no surprise that they feature prominently on LAN's beverage menu, as do the tasty pisco sours so popular in the country.  Ingredients in the meals at every meal service were extremely fresh, enhancing the inflight dining experience which included less-caloric options that did not skimp on flavour.


LAN offers an extensive array of audio and visual entertainment.  For travellers wanting a preview of what is on offer on board,  LAN provides its inflight entertainment schedule online.  LAN keeps its finger on the pulse of contemporary culture by offering the latest films and providing entire seasons of top-rated television shows for binge-viewing pleasure.  If Downton Abbey or House of Cards have already been enjoyed at home, this flight offered a fascinating documentary on the native culture of Easter Island.
