MSC Cruises S.A. has announced the appointment of Riccardo Casalino as the new chief marketing officer, joining the company at its global headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.
Having lived and worked internationally for 20 years, Casalino has led marketing teams for Procter & Gamble Co., eBay (Europe) and eDreams ODIGEO.
MSC Cruises chief executive officer Gianni Onorato said Riccardo is well suited for the role and his expertise will help grow the MSC Cruises brand.
“MSC Cruises is an ambitious young company that grew 800% in its first 10 years, quickly becoming the fourth biggest cruise line in the industry,” Mr Onorato said.
“Riccardo’s broad international experience spanning travel, e-commerce and consumer goods will be pivotal as we continue to build the MSC Cruises brand in step with the company’s rapid and aggressive expansion program.
“We need a world-class management team to ensure that we continue to provide distinct, best-in-class cruise experiences, even as we evolve and grow.”
Casalino’s most recent work was for online travel company eDreams ODIGEO, where he managed a team of 120 people.
Before that he was the senior marketing director for eBay (Europe), where he repositioned the brand and drove company growth.
However, Casalino’s first stint as a marketing executive was with Proctor & Gamble Co., where he spent 16 years with the company in several different European locations.
