Sharon Carter, Business Development Manager, Collette

I have recently joined Collette as Business Development Manager, Queensland.

Born in Sydney, I grew up in the Blue Mountains and Manly, before moving to the Sunshine Coast with my family 12 years ago.

My first foray into the travel industry is very recent as I started with Flight Centre in June this year which followed on from my previous roles in sales management.

The motivation came from my desire to travel to new destinations.  I  have always aspired to work in the travel industry, so that I could spend my time promoting travel to those who, like me, wish to see more of the world.

In this new role, I am looking forward to working with people who have the same desire to travel as I do. I am also eager to learn all about our awesome tours and build new relationships with our industry partners. The Collette team members that I have met to date are really genuine and friendly and have made me feel so welcome.

To date, I have been to 16 countries and I would have to say my favourite was Zambia. There I stayed at the Royal Livingstone Hotel with zebras and monkeys wandering around the grounds which overlook the magnificent Victoria Falls; this was amazing to watch from the outdoor dining area. One of my other special memories is going on a safari in Chobe National Park in Botswana.

There are many special places still left for me to discover but at the top of my bucket list are the Northern Lights in Finland, exploring Italy and voyaging to Antarctica. I am very enthusiastic about embarking on my new journey with Collette which will mirror my own passion for discovery and exploration of new destinations.
